From what I understand about night terrors, it may have been impossible to fully awaken Zag, there may not have been an understandable dream (but only a powerful sense of fear), and he may have no later memory of the event. Next time, maybe just try to ease him back to full sleep without trying to get an explanation.

The miso-soup-on-cereal concern may have been a separate, later dream - but an understandably troubling one!

Also, I can relate to Juan's experience. This kind of thing has brought me very close to putting vegetable juice in my coffee.

Woah. A couple of months ago, K and I were staying with some friends on the other side of the state, and one morning (while still in a post-sleep stupor) I reached for a container of what I thought was soy milk to pour on my granola. To my confusion, a mostly-clear liquid came out onto my wholesome breakfast. Why? Because some genious packaging engineer thought it would be a good idea to package CHICKEN BROTH in the same sort of jumbo juice-box container that soy milk usually comes in. The horror!

On a hunch, I just googled "miso soup carton," with the following result:

This is clearly a nightmare waiting to happen. Thank goodness we have Zag to warn us about this imminent danger!

Oh my. Tilt and The King appear to be talking in code! Play fair, gentlemen, it there an inside joke you care to let the rest of us in on? Or will you insist on cravenly concealing the meaning of this "spoonful?"

As bluesman Howlin' Wolf famously said, "Seem's evrything's a fight about a spoonfull."

My friend The King, you are most welcome to come over and play with Zag any time. We would happily provide all spoonfuls necessary to keep the both of you playing.

I think you might be getting a little bit bored with Legos. Maybe you should invite me to come over and play with Zag. In fact, I quite would like to only have to eat a mere spoonful then race off to go play Legos.

Ya know, it's funny you mentioned that, because I've been considering what the best way to build a minifig-sized IV drip lately. Here's a sterling example, making excellent use of a fiber-optic cable component:

Dunno why it's hooked up to a chicken, though.

Well, it turns out that as I was writing this, he actually built some things with Duplo for a while, and also laid out some wooden train tracks. So maybe it's not quite all Lego, all the time. Not quite.

Juan: we did try to move closer, but really, perhaps it's just as well. If it was the two of you feeding off each other, I might have to become qualified at putting in an IV drip just to keep you both hydrated and nourished.

Well, what were you expecting, honestly? Now see, if you'd only moved somewhere much closer to us, you could just drop Zag off with me and we'd have all kinds of fun together. And K would quickly become the only wage-earner in our household.
